Le Grand Monarque's prestigious precincts are part of Chartres history : first built as a hostelry back in the 17th century, on the marketplace Place des Espars, right in the bristling town center and in the shadow of a magnificient cathedral visible from miles away.

On your left, "Le George" restaurant, praised by Guide Michelin for over a hundred years, where Christopher, the Butler, will welcome you and help you choosing a classy menu composed by Chef Laurent Clement. But before that, you'll of course enjoy a sip of Champagne, the region's speciality : Nicolas, the Sommelier, shall tell you all about the intricacies of a rich variety of millesimes to be tasted at the hotel's wine bar.

Entering these rooms, you indeed feel at once warmth and preciousness surrounding you : bronze damask wall-coatings manufactured by Arte, spectacular bed with cozy cushions covered with shimmering velvet and matching plaid and a headboard façon ostrich-leather, all by Ami Lenglart. The bed frame is underlined with a subtle LED line. On both sides, beautifully curved night tables and bed-lights controlled by exquisite shell switches by von Oberndorff. Facing the bed, a convenient black wardrobe by "Mise en Demeure ".

Entering the bathroom, a nicely worked-out mosaic depicting a woman greets you. And, pearls of refinement, exquisite shell switches by von Oberndorff harmoniously provide a little extra touch of sophistication! All set for a perfect night's rest in a fairy environment.
